“Great opticians, staff are welcoming and friendly and more than happy to help even when previously asked to source my son some glasses they went above and beyond, great choice in frames that cover all budgets and they ensure correct fitting service along with exceptional after care. All eye checks are extremely thorough and any questions that are answered we’re confident and left me feeling reassured and that the information was correct and upto date. Also very quick delivery of frames was quoted ten days to allow the addition of lens treatments and in three days they were back, fitted and wearable.”

“When Mellis fist came along under a different name I was a bit spectacle. (Lol) But when I first visited maybe about 5/6 years ago, I thought they were lovely. When they changed ownership I was worried the staff would be different but they managed to keep all of them. The staff are very kind and conversational. It more like you’re catching up with an old friend as opposed to getting your eyes sorted. And they are amazingly thorough too, at one point they had every pair of frames out for me to try. Their aftercare is amazing too. Just pop in, get sorted and be on your way.”

“I have been attending this Optician surgery since my old Opticians closed. The original staff migrated to the Thornaby branch and every time I visit I find the service personable and dedicated to me only. There is time and care taken with my visit, where I am not rushed and treat as an individual. Choices are always given towards payments and the staff cater to my style, needs and price range when ordering new glasses and/or lenses. This is an excellent Opticians!”

“We have used Mellis opticians for approximately 8 months now with our 4 year old twins. From the first visit the team have always been very friendly and professional throughout. From the Receptionists right through to the opticians the whole team have always been so good with the children , helping them to feel very relaxed each time they visit, which in turn helps us as parents feel very relaxed too. The opticians have been very informative when explaining any issues along the way. Both our children now wear glasses – when choosing glasses for them the staff have been great right from choosing the most suitable ones to the fitting of them. Every time we visit it is always a very relaxed atmosphere and welcoming to us all. The team are always accommodating with any requests we make. I would strongly recommend them to anyone. I feel it is like a real close knit family company- and after having a very poor level of service from a much bigger optician company I would recommend Mellis eye care as a first choice anytime. We have visited both branches and the level of service is the same .Many thanks to your whole team in both branches .”
